While you are on your vacation to Eastham don’t worry if the weather is not looking good for a day or two, there is still much to do even with rainy weather. While vacationing at the Town Crier you can take a swim in our indoor pool, play some pool in our game room, visit the Eastham Visitors Center just up the street, play arcade games and more at the Red barn, Shopping at some local shops, go to the local cinemas just up the street and more. So don’t let rainy weather get you down on your vacation, you will still have a great time on Cape Cod.
This Summer we decided to have a professional company come and plant beautiful flowers out in front of our motel. They have been blooming all Summer and look so great that I thought I would put some photos up to show them off.
This weekend was the Pan Mass Challenge here in Massachusetts. There were hundreds of people from all over the States biking across the State to help find a cure for Cancer. 100% off the money that is contributed to the bike a thon goes towards cancer research. There were 5,396 riders this weekend as well as 2,758 volunteers and $20,000 in fund raising. The end of the bike a thon was today and ends in Provincetown, there were tons of bikers riding along the local roads today on their way to the finish line. Here at the Town Crier we offer a great poolside breakfast buffet 7 days per week during the Summer season. Our breakfast buffet is a great price and includes daily specials as well as homemade breads and muffins. You can enjoy looking out at our pool and also out our windows at our flowering gardens. Right next door to the Town Crier is the BEST restaurant in Eastham. At Arnolds Family Restaurant you will find a great selection of local seafood, burgers, sandwiches, fries, ice cream and so much more. Anyone who comes to visit Eastham eats at Arnolds and it is because they have such great food and a great atmosphere. They also have a new addition which is a excellent mini golf course that is great for kids of all ages. It features a huge waterfall and other small water features as well. So, next time you are in town, stop by Arnolds and give them a try, it’s easy to find, as there is always a huge line of people waiting outside waiting to eat some of their great food.
Cape Cod is a great place to visit a wide selection of antique shop. There are so many to choose from that you could not even go to all of them on your vacation to the Cape. Old route 6a is where you will find the widest selection of antique shops and most are located in old homes along the road. Some people come to the Cape just to shop for antiques, while others just like to browse the antique shops on rainy days or just to pass some time. Either way, shopping for antiques on Cape Cod is a great idea and you will find some great treasures.
Located just up the street from the Town Crier is a bike rental and repair shop. You can rent bikes for your entire family or just get your bike repaired. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is located just behind our motel which makes going to a nice bike ride a breeze. The Little Capistrano has a great special that starts July 5th and runs through August 16th which is: After 4:00 pm Bike Rental Special;3 Hour Bike & Helmet Rental, bottle of water and a bike map. Special Adults $12.00 (kids $8.00). Take advantage of this great rate while you are on vacation and save some extra money to buy some ice cream or a souvenir.
Sunsets and sandy beaches is what you will find here in the fabulous town of Eastham. You cannot be more than 1 mile from a beach here in Eastham. We have beaches along both sides of us and they are the most beautiful beaches on the Cape. You can watch some great sunsets out at our bay beaches that you will not forget. At low tide the kids can splash in the water and at high tide you can swim for hours. One of the best things to do while visiting Eastham is to visit the beaches as they are so spectacular. So, what are you waiting for, come on down and stay with us and enjoy all that Eastham has to offer.
Today there are some neat evenst going on in Eastham There will be a guided tour through the Historic district of Eastham which will begin at the School House Musem right across form the Eastham Visitors Center. The tour will be guided by Kate Alpert, Eastham native and President of the Historical Society. There is a fee of $8.00 per person. From 9:45 am to 12:00 noon.
Also, there will be a concert on the Windmill Green at 7pm. All are welcome and it is FREE of charge. This is a great way to get your kids out with other families and dance and enjoy the Cape Cod air and local musicians.
Just up the street on the Eastham/Wellfleet border you will find the largest flea market around. The Wellfleet Drive in and Flea Market. This is a great place to visit on a weekend when you are just not in the mood to go to the beach. They have a huge selection of vendors selling anything from local souvenirs to antiques and more.
