It is that time of year, Christmastime. This is a great time of year for us here at the Town Crier Motel. We enjoy all of the holiday lights up and down route 6 as well as the holiday shopping and cheer. Lucky for us the weather is just beautiful and the sun is shining brightly. We have had some pretty decent weather this Fall/Winter and we did get some snow a couple weeks back. We are all closed up for the winter and are glad to have some free time this winter to organize, stretch and enjoy for the next few months.
We want to thank all of our guests for staying with us this year. We have a wonderful summer and we hope everyone enjoyed their vacations on Cape Cod. We are now closed for the 2008 season and we will re-open in April of 2009. Check back soon as we will be redesigning our website with a new fresh look for this next year. Have a great Winter! The Town Crier has low rates for the Fall season. Come and visit the Cape and enjoy the crisp fall air and the colorful leaves. This is a great time of year to meander the great walking trails in Eastham and shop at local stores. Their are still local restaurants and shops open this time of year and they have great before Christmas sales. We have comfortable spacious rooms and we are open until October 31st. Located just up the street from is here at the Town Crier Motel is the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. There you can find 1100 acres of wildlife, beaches, freshwater ponds and woodlands. There are some very nice scenic trails that meander through Wellfleet’s woods. There are also walk, workshops and cruises available through the Audubon. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The nature trails are open every day, 8 a.m. to dusk. Visit their website here.
Just up the street from is here in Eastham is the best ice cream in town. Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream shop. They have the best sundaes, frappes, ice cream cones and more. You can even buy your very own pint of ice cream or hot fudge to take home with you. They even have a small area for the little kiddies which features bean bag chairs, toys and small stools. Next time you come and visit us make sure to stop by Ben and Jerry’s for some ice cream dessert goodness.
Just up the street from us here at the Town Crier Motel is the Eastham Elks Lodge. The Elks will be having their Oktoberfest event this year on September 27th. There will be Brats, beerwurst, sauerkraut, German potato salad, hot dogs, birch beer, pretzels, ice cream, German chocolate cake, Spaten Oktoberfes Beer and an “ompah” band. They will also have live music provided by Alpenblumen Musikanten. Price for this great event is only $3 to get in and $10 for a complete dinner. If you will be staying with us during this great event, you should go and have a great time.

Now that the Summer Season for Cape Cod has ended, we are now entering into our Fall Season. This means, lower rates, less people and all of the same great activities and events.
