It is officially 2010 and we have snow on the ground! The weather has been on the chilly side and the first snow we had melted for New Years and then it came back again this past weekend full force. The motel is covered with snow and it looks gorgeous. I took the picture in this post today, the snow has melted a little, but overall, we are covered. This weather is great for snow shoeing and cross country skiing on the bike trails. I noticed the trail has almost untouched snow and it is thick and fluffy.

Halloween is just around the corner and this is the perfect time of year to get to the Cape for a fun and scary getaway with the family. There are so many great Halloween activities going on this week and weekend here on the Cape. Some of the events that are going on for Halloween this year are:

This years thirty second annual Windmill Weekend will be held on September 11, 12 and 13. Windmill Weekend has a little something for everyone. To kick off the weekend there will be a fish and chicken fry at the Eastham/Orleans Elks Club. There will be a band playing some great music outside on stage. There will also be a talent show on stage and awards ceremony. There will be a craft show at Nauset High School on Saturday from 10 to 4. Head back to the Elks lodge on Saturday afternoon for a vehicle show. Then Sunday morning there will be a pancake breakfast held at the Elks lodge. At the windmill green there will be booths setup with activities for everyone, raffles, local organizations and more. On Sunday afternoon there will be a parade starting at Brackett Road and goes all the way to the windmill green.
