Today we celebrate the 4th of July. A day to remember who gave us our independence and to remember those who fought for it. America is such a great place, and what better way to celebrate than with parades and fireworks. We watched the Orleans fireworks from First Encounter Beach in Eastham the other night and boy were they spectacular.

The Eastham Cultural Council is presenting the 14 annual Hands on the Arts Festival right here in Eastham on the Windmill Green. Featuring: jewelry making, Japanese brush painting, fiber arts, printmaking and other art media, with professional artists. Also, found art sand sculptures, live entertainment, storytelling, puppetry, local bands and so much more! If you are staying at the Town Crier Motel this coming Father’s Day weekend be sure to stop by the Windmill Green for this fabulous family event.

If you are going to be in Eastham on March 17th 2011, don’t miss out on the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance at the Orleans-Eastham Elks Club. Located just up the street from the Town Crier Motel you can enjoy great food, great entertainment and a fun night out with locals. Corn beef and cabbage as well as soda bread and Guinness will be served. There will be live music by Brian Kelly, so put on your dancing shoes and have some good ol’ fun from 7pm to 11pm. Meet the Park Rangers in the parking lot and walk down together for an evening of fun. Bring a beach chair, blanket or towel and enjoy a campfire sing along with everyone.
